Rafe West is a good detective who also never lets his love life interrupt his career. However, Maddy is one woman that he can’t ignore because she’s beautiful and also smart and clever. Each day working with her has left him in pain, not in a bad way, but because he can’t be with her intimately. This is his last case to work with her on and then he will be reassigned making him crave a chance to be with her even more. Can he just walk away from her without a word or will he tell her how he really feels about her?

If Wishes Came True by Cassandra Kane is a short erotic tale with a great story line. You have two people who try to deny their attraction to each other because of their job’s protocol. Maddy has always regretted that she didn’t succumb to Rafe’s charm that one time that it has left her frustrated with so much pent up desire for him she doesn’t know what to do anymore. Working with her on this case is not easy for Rafe either. I loved the fact that Cassandra Kane created two people so unlike each other yet they still share the same qualities that make them love one another. Both of them are smart and hardworking, but when it comes to their love lives, they are very stubborn. I just loved the action and the heat in this book even though it was a short story, and I would have loved to read more. Rafe is a man that anybody would fall in love with, not only for his handsome blue-eyed looks, but he is definitely man enough for any task that falls in his lap. Loved it!
