Heart of the Winter Wolf

Jillian Descharme was saved by a huge white wolf and it has been with her, in her dreams ever since, whenever she has needed it the most. Jillian knows that the wolf was real but has stopped admitting it to anyone since everyone believes it was just a figment of her imagination, brought on as a way to cope with her trauma.

Ever since the death of his wife and unborn child and his own near death, James Macleod has coped by closing out his human side and existing only as his wolf. But something has been calling to him and when he visit’s his brothers veterinarian clinic and catches a glimpse of Jillian, he knows she is the one calling to him but he doesn’t know how the wolf knows her or how to keep him away.

Heart of the Winter Wolf by Dani Harper is an exciting and touching story that I just couldn’t put down!

The Macleod family is a unique family of changelings and their close family dynamics add to the drama and emotion felt throughout this story. You can feel their pain and hope as they pass the time eager for James to come back to them as human instead of the wolf he’s been for 30 years.

Jillian and James are both fabulous characters with their strength and tenacity in dealing with the painful past and in dealing with present. The electricity between the two practically sizzled right off the pages and it held me completely spellbound.

Heart of the Winter Wolf is one of the best shape shifter stories I have read in a while and I would love to read more of the Macleod clan!!
