The Masters: Tarak

The Masters: Tarak is the second novel in Kate Hill’s The Masters series and can be read independently.

The unthinkable happened to Tarak. After a thousand-year union, his wife Deva walked out on their marriage. Brokenhearted, Tarak sought out his blood father and ended up becoming one of his Masters of Ecstasy at the Sunlight of the Soul. Yet, no matter how much pleasure Tarak brought to his clients, there was no satisfaction for him because he missed the special touch that only Deva could provide.

After months of being separated and terribly missing her husband, Deva decided to follow Tarak to the Sunlight of the Soul. She purposely requested his guidance through the sexual gauntlet hoping she would get a chance to prove to him that his supercilious, my-way or no-way type of attitude had deeply hurt their marriage. Will Deva be able to convince Tarak that they are equal partners within their marriage or was all hope lost?

This story might be short in pages, but it packed quite a punch! The focal point of this novella revolved around the give and take of a relationship. Because of the era that he grew up in, Tarak was taught that the male only made the decisions and women followed without question. So, naturally throughout their marriage, Tarak was the dominant one and because he satisfied Deva’s every want and wish he believed her to be happy and content. However, that was not the case. After a century of Tarak overlooking her independence, Deva did the only thing she could do – leave Tarak. There was never a moment that I thought that neither Deva nor Tarak loved each other. It was more the errors of miscommunication and the unwillingness to see someone else point of view. The sexual encounters between the couple were plentiful, naughty, passionate and erotically romantic. The Masters: Tarak was an awesome, delightful read and just as good as its precursor.
