Amuse Me

Megan Bradshaw lives the dream of penning steamy stories for a living. Being a writer of erotic romance doesn’t come without its pitfalls, however. The men Megan comes into contact with inevitably want to know if she’s “researched” her material, and even worse, if she’d like to. While attending a national erotic writers’ convention, her presence is requested by her new boss. He wants to offer her a five book deal, and as it turns out—something else entirely.

When Blake Lockland took over Quicksand Books, he knew he would be working with writers. But when he first sees the beautiful Megan Bradshaw, he is compelled to do more than just work. But can he prove to her that he’s not like the other men she’s encountered? Can he make her see that he cares about the woman, not just the image she projects as a writer of erotica?

Amuse Me by Lexie Davis is a steamy short story told in the first person. The premise of the book is intriguing, and the reader receives a glimpse inside the head of a published author and what that life might entail. Ms. Davis did a nice job of presenting a conflict for the hero and heroine to work through, in spite of the short word count. The plot line progressed nicely from beginning to end. For a fast, fun read Amuse Me is a good choice.
