The Sexiest Man Alive

What if your one true love was the sexiest man alive? Could you handle it, or would you faint straight away when you saw his…ahem…assets? This very question is posed to costume designer Jasmine Burns. You see, her sister, Amy, is a psychic gypsy. Her gift? She has the ability to name your one true love. When ultra-shy Jasmine discovers her destiny is who “People Magazine” deemed the sexiest man alive, her quiet, peaceful world is turned upside down. Oh, to be so up heaved. When she finds herself working for the cover boy her life really becomes interesting…terrifyingly so.

To say Josh Toby is famous would be a vast understatement. His face and physique known by millions, he appears to have it all—Hollywood lifestyle, fame, fortune, and the prerequisite movie star girlfriend to go along with it. But all is not as it seems. Josh harbors a secret or two, a reality to which his fans remain oblivious. He has a need that drives him to New York City, and in turn into the life of Jasmine Burns. A disguise is required to enable him to mill about the city with complete anonymity. When he requests the aid of the timid costume designer, he discovers a need of a different sort altogether.

How does a woman paralyzed by fear handle such a man? Can she step outside of her comfort zone and embrace not only Josh, but the chaotic lifestyle that surrounds him? Can one of the world’s most famous men successfully tuck a quiet, unknown woman into his life without ultimately destroying not only his career, but the person who has somehow come to mean everything to him?

The Sexiest Man Alive by Diana Holquist is a delicious romantic comedy filled with witty humor, emotion, and a plot line that will keep the pages turning late into the night. I devoured the book in one sitting, unwilling to let it go until I reached its satisfying conclusion. Ms. Holquist’s gift for characterization creates a hero and heroine you feel you know and ultimately care about. Her imaginative take on a question we’ve probably all considered at some point (c’mon…you know you’ve thought about what it would be like to be with the Adonis gracing that magazine cover!) delivers a highly entertaining, sexy read. I thoroughly enjoyed tagging along on the journey of Jasmine and Josh to love and am anxiously awaiting the next book in Ms. Holquist’s One True Love series.
