Invasion Earth 1: Forgotten Hope

Chevon Rankin is from a species of mimics. Accused of helping a traitor, who just happened to be her sister, she has spent the last two centuries hiding and pretending to be a vampire. When the Setti shifter, Garret Olsen, finds her and seeks to discover what she knows, she calls for help and is answered by the last person she wants to see. Her former lover and the man that was given the task of making her confess to a crime she didn’t commit. Chevon has never gotten over loving Brock, or over his betrayal. She feels that he should have seen her innocence and for that she feels that she can’t forgive him.

Forgotten Hope is the first book in a new series, Invasion Earth by Aubrey Ross. Chevon is an interesting character, forced to flee from all she knows in order to avoid interrogation, she goes to an unfamiliar world and pretends to be an entirely different race. Brock was definitely an alpha male who wanted things to go his way and his way only. He has a lot to make up for if he is to correct the mistakes he has made in the past with Chevon. There were a whole host of other characters throughout this tale, several different species of beings, as a matter of fact. An intricate plot with several equally important subplots keep the reader interested page after page. The sensual scenes were plentiful and smoking hot. I am happy that this is going to be a continuing series as I would like to find out more about these other characters, their species, and what part they play in this detailed world. I especially enjoyed Luc and Vilok and can’t wait to read more about them.
