Fate: In the Beginning
Darious is a demon, the Lord of Lust, Sex and Decadence who has lived on Earth for ages. He is part of a secret society of demons, she-devils, werewolves and other creatures of popular myth who reside on Earth. They prefer to keep it that way because if humans found out that they are real, the world as they know it would be over. But one rogue vampire goes on television to “come out” and tell the world everything. Darious and the other rulers must come together to work out this problem, or there maybe a great war between them that could destroy them all.
The one creature they all live in fear of is Lady Danyealla, the Queen of all the she-devils. She and Darious have quite a history together ever since the French Revolution and became lovers during World War II. She walked away from him because she knows they can never have a future together. Half a century later, Darious finds out that Dani is near. Forgetting all the problems of his community, he goes to Dani and begs her to become his wife, his mate for all eternity. Dani finally accepts but the fear that war could destroy their new found happiness keeps her on edge. They decide they will both band together and no force on Earth or bellow will separate them ever again.
Danyealle Autumn Myst has taken many dark legends and rolled them into one story with surprising results. These eclectic groups of beings are not the evil and scary characters we are so use to reading about, but rather, they are as close to being humans as you can get. There were moments of comedy, especially with Dani’s pet cat Mayhem, who speaks with a lisp but is just looking for someone to show him love and affection. When it comes to love, Darious and Dani heat up the sheets! These two are soul mates who after many years of separation come together in a cosmic clash. When these two make love, the skies open and their true forms come out. And let’s just say that Darious has an interesting way of showing his love for his she-devil.
Fate: In the Beginning has a great deal of secondary characters and plots that may confuse, but when the focus is on Dani and Darious, their story makes for a very interesting read. If you like all types of ghouls and things that go bump in the night, I recommend you take a chance on Danyealle Autumn Myst, and then maybe you won’t be scared of keeping your closet door open as you sleep deep into the night.
