Risking It All

Rina Calhoun wants more than just to make videos of extreme sports, but for the moment she works as an editor making these videos. She’d rather film documentaries that will make a difference, and her goal is to win a grant contest sponsored by the World Film Organization. Her latest project about surfing has her in knots over one of the surfers. He is only known as Cash and spends his days surfing the Hawaiian waves, but since he hasn’t signed a release, the footage featuring him can’t be used. She will have to get his signature. Something she isn’t too keen on since every time she sees him on camera, she wants to have her way with him.

Cash is not just a surfer bum but is actually a Navy SEAL working undercover trying to bust a drug ring on the island. That is why he didn’t sign the release and can’t be in Rina’s video. Even when Rina comes to him asking for his help, he still refuses. But Rina really turns him on, and the next thing they both know, they have an incredible and steamy one night stand. Cash leaves her sated and thinking they will never see each other again.

But fate intervenes and a few weeks later, they see each other again. Rina will be shooting a video for her Uncle Mac about the Navy SEALS, and even though she is in for quite a shock when she sees Johnny “Cash” Cashman, she still has a job to do and won’t leave. Now Cash has to keep his feelings in check and make sure no one finds out about Rina and their night on the island, including Mac, his Admiral. However, the unrestrained passion these two have for each other cannot be denied, and they pick up where they left off.

Harlequin has a true star with Stephanie Tyler. Risking It All is everything you want in a romance, let alone a book. Cash and Rina have a scorching hot affair and those intimate scenes are some of the best I have read in quite awhile. There are no evil villains or a murder mystery to take up the pages, which is nice for a change. What we have is an incredible story about two people who live for their work. Tyler gives her readers incredible insight on what being a SEAL is like and can do to family and friends when their loved ones go on missions that may not bring them back alive. Along with Cash and Rina, there are an amazing set of characters that liven up Risking It All. Even though this is a category romance, it is just as well written as any mainstream fictional romance you will find. I was floored and couldn’t take my eyes away from reading. Risking it All is a total Recommended Read all the way!
