Strange Lust is an anthology of stories by S.L. Carpenter. Each story in it is indeed about various forms of lust. Between the various stories are the three parts of Peter and Susan’s relationship. The two are coworkers with an intense relationship to one another. They cannot keep their hands off of each other…especially in public areas. The other stories vary from the truly shocking to feel-good. “The Piercing” is a hot and amusingly funny story. “The Dance” reiterates the fact that opposites attract and that sometimes love cannot conquer all. In it, Vincent and Sandra are two people with an intense but unlikely attraction to one another. “The Bath’” is a hot, action packed story about a new couple. During their first night together, they find out something truly terrifying about one another. The anthology is a quickie read but extremely entertaining.

I enjoyed Strange Lust quite a bit. I was shocked by some of the stories, while I was touched by others. S.L. Carpenter is a strong writer who displays amazing versatility in his writing. None of his stories are similar to any other ones and while some of them seem unlikely, S.L. Carpenter is able to convey a convincing air to them. I was impressed by Strange Lust and have recommended it to many people. S.L. Carpenter has a wonderful imagination and is able to use to avoid being pigeonholed into a single style of writing. Strange Lust contains a story for every type of reader, no one is left wanting. This book is a keeper; it is an anthology to be read again and again. Strange Lust delivered more than I was expecting and I enjoyed all of it!
