Dragon’s Choice

Debbie Mumford continues the enchanting romantic fantasy of Sorcha’s Heart in this sequel and carries us into the lives and loves of two of Sorcha’s children, Aislinn and Taran.

Aislinn is the first of Sorcha’s dragon-shifting children to try leaving the ice aerie of her childhood and live for a time with her mother’s kin in a human body. She finds the human life is full of new sensations and sensual wonders, but must also face the scorn of those humans who hate dragon-kind for no reason other than their differences. In spite of this, she gives her heart to a human Prince, and Ewan returns her love with his whole heart.

Taran has always been physically the weakest of Sorcha’s children, though he is courageous and intelligent. His family hopes that Sorcha’s healing skills will help him recover his strength while he is in his human form. What she discovers is her son possesses magic similar to her own, and must be trained to use it before it consumes him. As he begins to learn and heal, he discovers his true mate is also human, but Senga is the daughter of a dangerous dragon-hating nobleman. Will either of Sorcha’s children be able to follow their hearts in a land where they must also deal with undeserved hate?

Dragon’s Choice is a wonderful story about family, devotion, and learning to trust. It is a reflection of the greatest human failings and the inspiring power of unconditional love. Woven with the message is and wonderfully written story that fires your imagination. The characters are beautifully crafted, and draw the reader quickly into their world. There is danger, adventure, humor, and you can feel the air rushing across your skin each time the dragons take flight. The plot moves quickly, and holds your attention with the special kind of magic I have enjoyed in Ms. Mumford’s previous works. I will be waiting for each new installment of this series as we discover the fates of all of Sorcha’s children.
