Murder in the Alps
As owner of the Hafenberg Health Spa in the Alps, Doctor Tessa Bradford makes sure each person fills out a health questionnaire with a doctor’s signature. She even reviews the health papers before the quests arrive, which is why she is surprised when one of the guests dies of respiratory failure due to extreme exertion. Nothing is mentioned of this on his health form. Tessa is the one that discovers the body after hearing a gunshot, but after arriving and seeing a man standing not far from the deceased, she thinks he is responsible until she learns otherwise. He says his name is Mike and instructs her to phone the police but mention nothing else about meeting him. Tessa is determined to find the real truth as she finds herself even considering her closest friends and colleagues. Detective Mike Boransky is a detective from the Chicago Police Department. A man on a mission, he never expected to become involved with a woman like Tessa. She is a woman he would rather not be in such close proximity, but sometimes things don’t work the way one desires. As the hunt for the killer continues, Mike believes Tessa’s life is in jeopardy. He will do everything to safeguard her, but someone bent on vengeance may reach her first.
Murder in the Alps is a spine-tingling read. I love the suspense, and the mystery that surrounds it from the beginning to the end. I was caught up in Tessa’s efforts to find it in her heart to place her trust in Mike as well as the way Mike struggles within himself about loving a woman like Tessa. Mary Wynn Faulkner pens a captivating read that absorbs the reader. She creates a plot that is wonderfully done. The mystery is spellbinding, keeping this reader on the edge of her seat with Tessa’s and Mike’s next move. The first page had me hooked and kept me there until the dramatic conclusion in this intriguing page-turner that is brilliantly crafted.
