Twice the Cowboy, Twice the Ride

Jess Graff is in town for the El Paso International Livestock Show and Rodeo. He has been in the competition four years running. He is sharing a drink at the bar when he encounters Manuel Santos Fuentes, who is also in town for the rodeo. Jess immediately notices that Manuel has nice lips, as well as a nice body. They share conversation about the rodeo and events, and as Manuel steps away, Jess can’t stop thinking about him. The next day after Manuel has a slight accident in the event, Jess takes him back to the hotel to put ice on his leg. While taking care of Manuel’s bruises, one thing leads to another and the two are in each others arms and bed. Afterwards they separate into their own rooms until after the rodeo. When they are together, they are lost in each others arms and world. They feel it is perfect but will the uncle who raised Manuel until he was fifteen, plant a wedge between the lovers disrupting their happy life?

Twice the Cowboy, Twice the Ride is loaded with action, not only in the rodeo arena but behind closed doors, too. The story sizzles like a towering inferno. The sensual passion can’t be quenched by any amount of water. James Buchanan creates a tale of romance and sensual passion between two cowboys that practically lift off the pages. The interaction with the uncle and how it creates friction between Jess and Manuel can actually be felt by this reader. One can almost see the tension that hangs in the air and feel the harsh words being spoken. Mr. Buchanan spins a read that is much more than two cowboys falling in love. He expresses trust among family and lovers. I like how he mentions getting animals to trust and calming them when they are upset. This is a wonderful read.
