Last Wolf Standing: Book One

What happens when werewolf Mason Dillinger walks into a crowded café and suddenly realizes that his life mate, that he never expected to find, was in the crowd? The words that he says to himself are not repeatable in the review. The big thing that now happens is that the rogue wolf that he has been hunting now turns his attention on Mason’s life mate, Torrance Watson. Mason is able to rescue Torrance, and he and his partner take her to his cabin in the woods where they hope that she will be safe from the rogue that they are hunting. However, things don’t always go as planned, and now Mason must decide if he truly loves Torrance or is he only accepting her because she is his life mate.

When Torrance is accidentally “tripped” by Mason in a café and then warned that she may be in grave danger if she doesn’t stay with him and his partner, she thinks that they had totally lost their minds. Unfortunately, when she is surprised by the rogue wolf a few hours later she thinks that maybe they were telling her the truth. She is totally attracted to Mason. The man is gorgeous and makes her laugh, but he refuses to explain to her exactly what the life mate is and how it will affect her relationship with him. It seems that she must go with him to his cabin to keep herself safe, so she supposes that she’ll discover a little more about the bond that they are sharing. If she has to get into his bed to see if it’s real then she’ll take the risk and do it. Can she believe in him even though he has said that he doesn’t believe in falling love; especially since her feelings are quickly turning to love that will last a life time?

It doesn’t matter where you’re at, what you’re doing or even if you’re looking for love if you’re in the right spot it will find you. And Last Wolf Standing with Mason and Torrance proves this. I would loved to have seen the look on Mason’s face when he got his first scent of Torrance and realized that he had a life mate in that café. It took Torrance a bit longer to understand what she had gotten herself into, but she had fun finding out if what he said was true. If you’ve never read a Rhyannon Byrd book then you need to start with this one. I’ve read every book that she’s ever written and they will leave you laughing your head off and bring you to tears and this is a very talented lady. I’m proud that she has made it to print, and I cannot wait until the next book that will come out in this series. The hero of the next book has a big role in Last Wolf Standing, and by the time you finish it you’ll be waiting right along with me for him story.
