Stripped Away

Shadows Destroyers Braxton Murphy and Quinn Maguire have been drawn to each other since the moment that they first met. Quinn has attempted to invite him out for a drink, but the rule follower Braxton always says no because he doesn’t want to get involved with someone that he works with. The longer that they work together the harder it gets for him to say no to her, and he wonders how long he can hold out on denying her. One night he doesn’t stand a chance as she is infected by a lust demon, and he volunteers to stay with her at the personal compound at the office. The only problem is that she has no memory of the sexual encounter the following morning.

Braxton is not sure how to handle the fact that Quinn doesn’t remember the sexy night that they spent in each others arms, but ignoring her probably isn’t the best way to go about it. He knows it is bothering her the way that he is acting towards her, and he is about to begin to talk to her again when they are trapped together in an elevator that is stuck while they are doing maintenance work on it. Her reactions are so unlike anything that he has ever seen her do before. After he takes out a demon that was about to take her down, he knows that something is terrible wrong with her. She begins to tell him about the nightmares that she has been having, and then her twin sister is kidnapped. Just when he was to the point that he thought he could tell her about the night that they spent together, all of this happens to her, and now he must decide whether or not to add one more thing to her list of things to worry about. He could make the biggest or worst decision of his life at this instant, which will it be?

Sydney Somers writes stories that will pull you into them from the second that you begin the book until the very end and this one is no different. If you read Unbreakable and are totally hooked on The Destroyers then you’re going to love this book. I thought that Gage and Jordan were the perfect pair, but I think that Quinn and Brax are just a bit more perfect. Brax is such a rule follower and Quinn is such a bad girl that they are the perfect pair and before the book ends Brax starts to pick up on some of Quinn’s bad girl habits. The love scenes were hot, steamy, scorching and are some of the hottest that I’ve seen in a book. I love the people in this book, and I hope that Ms. Somers keeps writing about them because I don’t think that she’ll find a more active or more intense group of people in the world.
