A Delicious Taboo

Melanie Drake has worked at Taboo Delights for six months, and for all of those months she’s been lusting after four gorgeous men, Van, Calen, Philip and Jake. There’s just one problem, Van and Calen are gay and committed to each other, the same goes for Philip and Jake. Melanie spends a lot of time fantasizing about the four men never thinking they were doing some fantasizing of their own. Each couple wants Mel to be their third, but she won’t choose. She can’t. She wants them all. Could one night of forbidden fantasy turn into more then just sex for all of them? Or will Melanie walk away with nothing but memories?

A Delicious Taboo is bold in it’s exploration of this alternate lifestyle. It’s hard to juggle the emotions of three people when you’re writing about a threesome but adding a second couple to the mix was not difficult for Jennifer Cole. She does a great job of the emotions involved in sharing; keeping the level of emotion high enough to keep the sex from being just sex proves easy for this writer. Ms. Cole doesn’t shy away from any intimacy, whether it’s emotional or physical. And the slightly insecure Melanie is a delight to get to know. Besides, anyone would want to spend time with these four hunks, even if they are gay. Luckily for Mel they’re bi and interested in her. The emotional impact of their want sends Mel into a roller coaster ride of insecurity and doubt, which the men do their best to wipe out. With internal scares of his own, Van understands her doubts and leads the men into what at times is very shaky ground. With A Delicious Taboo Ms. Cole shows that she has no problem mixing the emotional and sexual elements to come up with a well rounded story to warm even the coldest toes.
