Court Appointed

When federal judge Jackson Benedict finds himself the target of some strange gifts, he’s forced to call for help. Things should be fine now that he’s got his own bodyguard, and they would be if that bodyguard wasn’t Trey London. For months they’ve been dancing around their attraction, and now that they’re forced into close contact neither of them can deny it any longer. But how can Trey protect Jackson when all he can think about is getting him naked? Can Jackson continue to keep his lifestyle choice a secret when he wants nothing more than to kiss Trey wherever they are? Or will the person threatening Jackson rob them of the chance to find out how deep their attraction goes?

Court Appointed is a fast paced quick read,, but don’t be fooled; quality over quantity. This might only be a short story, but it packs in enough depth and action to please anyone. Whether you’re after a romance, some action or some hot erotic sex, Court Appointed has it all. As the story develops you find yourself riding waves of different emotions. Caught between being openly gay and having to be more than just discreet is taking its toll on Jackson, because until he met Trey he had no real issue with the way he lived, half out half in the closet. But he doesn’t want to hide his feelings for Trey, and considering they can’t keep their hands off each other, whether a light brushing of hands, a light kiss or a make-out session, it’s a good thing Jackson no longer cares about what anyone who sees them will say. That’s never happened before, he’s always worried, and Jackson must decide what’s more important, keeping his choices private, or showing the world and Trey just how deeply he feels. Ms. McKenna has done a brilliant job of conveying the conflict Jackson faces within himself, and as she puts pen to paper the love for her own story shines through. Jackson and Trey might move fast, but you never feel like you’ve missed anything. The sex is hot and steamy, and I’m still trying to un-fog my screen. Like any great book Court Appointed takes you on a journey out of the real world and leaves you not only satisfied but pleased to have made the trip. When you close the book you’ll be sad to say goodbye and eager to gets your hands on some more of Ms. McKenna’s work. I know this reader has already blown the budget because she snuck off to grab a couple of books from this wonderful author.
