From the minute I picked up Sarah’s Brass Token I was hooked. Ciara Gold weaves a wonderful story of hardship, survival and triumph. With ease you are drawn into a time long passed, and you have no problem picturing the town or its people. From the start Ms. Gold grips your emotions and never let’s go; she has you wishing that Sarah would just give in and let Tabor take care of her but keeping true to the character Ms. Gold has her fighting him every step of the way. With the treatment she’s always received from the town of Banjo, Sarah is suspicious of Tabor’s motives, and the fact that she stands toe to toe with him on a number of occasion’s only gives her more depth. Tabor stirs as any good hero should, and if he came knocking on my door to lend a hand, I’d roll out the red carpet. As the story unfolds and more characters are introduced you find yourself just as intrigued about them and the stories they have to tell. Adding to the love story between Sarah and Tabor is the mystery of who’s killing the people of Banjo and why. With Tabor under suspicion just because he’s new to town, he begins to doubt his decision to stay. As he grows closer to Sarah and her son, he discovers scars so deep he’s afraid she’ll never trust him. I loved the struggle this pair went through, bringing out every emotion, their journey toward happily ever after was engaging on all levels. From deepest heartache to lighthearted laughter Sarah’s Brass Token gives you value for money. The first in a series about the town of Banjo Sarah’s Brass Token will have you hunting up the next one. Having already read the third book I’ll be getting second on waiting with baited breath for the release of the forth in February ‘08.
