In dire need of a new job after being asked to leave her latest temp assignment Lyric Sage can’t believe it when a knock on her door brings about opportunities to finally get a great job with the National Security Agency. Patience isn’t his strong suit and he finds himself in a tangent while trying to determine what it is about Lyric that sends him into a tail spin of lust one second and rage the next. As Lyric and Lucifer continue to navigate their special relationship, a stranger with evil intentions has set his sites on Lyric and doesn’t mind going through Lucifer to get her.

Having had the pleasure of reading other compilations by Michelle O’Neill and Lindsey Bayer I wasn’t at all surprised at the exciting tale of a woman with uncontrollable powers and her attempts at love. Midnight Becomes You was an interesting story about two gifted individuals on opposite sides of the control spectrum that come together in a clash of wills. Still running from the fear instilled by a less than accepting parent, the heroine in this story is someone I think a lot of people can relate to. Tons of talent but in serious need of structure! Lucifer, whose name alone sent chills down my back, as much as Ms. O’Neill and Ms. Bayer made him a tough boss, the depth of his powers maybe him extremely appealing. I hope this duo continues to provide readers with more interesting tales and that there is a coming soon book on the horizon.
