The Accidental Werewolf
Marty has been making an amazing rise through the ranks of the Bobbie-Sue Cosmetics Company, all the way to the lavender level. With her goal of the sky-blue convertible in reach, a very strange thing happens. Her teacup poodle attacks a much larger dog, and Marty is nipped in the process of separating them. After this strange incident her lovely Spring colors no longer work with her complexion, and then there’s the hair growth, Bobbie-Sue doesn’t even have a depilatory line. When a yummy stranger comes to tell her that he’s the one who bit her, her color wheel goes seriously awry.
Keegan was distracted by her scent, that and her lovely lavender-clad derriere. That’s no excuse for biting her, but it sure has kept him close by her side. Now that his company, and his pack, are rumbling with the after effects of the first human-changed were, he has his hands full of problems.
Having been a direct sales representative at one time I could not help but laugh aloud at the very, very apt descriptions of the Bobbie-Sue life. From the scathing remarks Nina pointed at the life to the truly eerie ‘cheery’ go get ‘em attitude, The Accidental Werewolf really brought this life, erm, to life. I loved the way that Marty was so gung-ho about everything, not just Bobbie-Sue Cosmetics, but life in general. The chemistry between Marty and Keegan was pretty darned cool too. It was nicely balanced between ‘no, I shouldn’t’ and ‘but I really wanna.’ Her friends, Nina and Wanda, were a cute foil to her, but I was a little disappointed in the fact that Nina was swept to the side. I hope that we will get to see her again, perhaps to explain her attitude more. The rest of Keegan’s wolves were another part of this world that I would love to see again. I am very impressed with Dakota Cassidy’s wonderful foray into mainstream publishing.
