Don’t Tempt Me
Lynette is devastated when she loses her twin sister. But when her mother decides to stop in Paris before returning home to Poland, Lynette is happy attending some of the parties of the season for the first time in her life. At one such party she can’t help admiring the handsome Simon Quinn. When he approaches her and boldly kisses her, Lynette discovers that he believes her to be her twin, Lysette. Then Lynette discovers her twin is really alive, but can’t remember who she is. Lynette is determined to help her sister remember where she comes from, while also trying to protect her from the danger they are in.
Don’t Tempt Me is indeed a tempting story. Ms. Day has a gift for creating passion and intrigue and this story displays those gifts admirably.
The characters she has crafted are vivid, exciting and stay true to the era. Lynette and Lysette are as different as two people can be. One innocent and unassuming, the other hardened and world weary. Both shares the unique bond that only twins can share, plus the attention of the same man but in completely different ways.
This story takes place in Paris during the 1700’s, and it’s easy to picture yourself right in the middle of the action with the colorful descriptions given throughout this tantalizing tale. Don’t Tempt Me is a great story and I’m giving it a well deserved 5 angels!
