Right after marrying John Blaten, the commander of the Halian Federation, Aurelia Giat flees her new husband before even consummating their marriage and shortly after her escape; John is arrested and put into a detention center.

Even though her marriage was one of convenience, Aurelia assumes that John had it annulled, if it was even legal to begin with. But even now, not having seen him in over a year, when Aurelia learns that John is being sold to the highest bidder, she places a bid and buys him as her slave.

She hasn’t the first idea of what she will do with him but the idea of having John as a sex slave is starting to sound nice, especially when he does his best to show her how much they missed out on when their honeymoon night was interrupted.

Owned by L.A. Day is the first book in the Adventures in Space series from Changeling Press.

This series is off to a great start with this tantalizing tale. Aurelia has no idea her marriage to John is still valid until he is on her ship and reminding her of why the first time she seen him naked she was ruined for other men. John has plenty of secrets that he has kept from his wife and is hoping that once he reveals all of them to her she will want to stay his wife.

Author L.A. Day keeps this short story on track with enough details that you understand what’s going on but not enough to bog down the fast flow that she keeps. The characters are both interesting and intelligent and the action between them is steamy.

If you are looking for a hot story with plenty of sci-fi elements thrown in then you will not want to miss Owned!
