Second Chance Christmas

Lori Dayton is back home in Arizona to spend Christmas with her family after running away four years ago. She had hoped that her time away would have been enough to ease Dean Wilcox’s anger with her and the love she still felt for him, but after he walked into the bar while she was playing pool with her brothers, Lori realizes that her hopes were in vain and her love and his anger are still as strong as ever.

As Lori makes up her mind to leave, she makes a trip to the restroom to wipe away her tears and as she’s coming out, she gets hit on by one of the drunken regulars. As he leans down to kiss her he is pulled away and thrown to the floor by Dean leaving Lori to wonder just what was going on with him since not long before he’d told her to leave him alone and now he wants to buy her a beer and talk? Is there any way of them coming to terms with their past and moving past it or will they always have the anger and resentment from past mistakes between them?

Second Chance Christmas by Mackenzie McKade is a sexy, sweet story that pulls at your heartstrings while you hope for a second chance for the troubled couple. Both Lori and Dean are intelligent, strong characters that let past mistakes and misunderstandings get between them, but even with the pain of the past, they haven’t forgotten the desire and heat that they have always had.

Ms. McKade has penned a quick paced, enchanting short story that you won’t want to miss! 5 Angels!
