Amor en Retrogrado

Amor en Retrogrado by A.M. Riley is a homoerotic contemporary suspense story.

Police Officer’s Kate Crandall and Bill Turner are at a homicide scene that appears to be like a previous one. The only difference is that this time one of the victims, Joseph Ryan, is alive, unconscious, but still alive. Bill thinks that there is more to this than meets the eye even though Kate doesn’t. They learn that the victim’s partner is none other than Robert Lemos, the lawyer famous for recently convicting a dirty cop. Robert is notified about the accident, and he runs to Jay’s side. The two have been separated for a year, but Robert has never forgotten Jay. When Jay wakes up, he has no memory of their breakup or what he had been doing for the past year. The time they had together was turbulent form the beginning, and Robert is afraid to go through it again when Jay regains his memories. Robert takes Jay home to recover, but will the past intrude on the present and will the killer come back for a second try?

A.M. Riley has created a fast passed story with many twists and turns that captures the reader from the very start. Jay’s struggles with his feelings for Robert are frightening to him. He was never interested in men, and the overwhelming feelings they had at first sight took them both by surprise. The love they felt for each other was easy to see when Robert dropped everything to take care of Jay. As pieces of the puzzle started coming together, Jay and Robert began to understand each other more, and hopefully their love will have a chance to change into something deeper. It was interesting to see the differences in how Kate and Bill looked at their case in reference to each of their private lives. I hope that their will be a sequel telling Bill’s story. Thanks go to A.M. Riley for a fascinating story.
