Back to the Past by Jade Falconer is a homoerotic short story.

Noah Edwards can’t believe his luck. He has always loved history, but now he will get to experience it for real. Noah has won one of the few coveted spaces in the reality show that takes modern day men and woman and for a period has them experience life as it used to be in the hit reality show. Noah is going back as the richest man in the group with two servants. When they go to change into their past clothing, Noah meets Ethan, his manservant and the most gorgeous man that Noah has ever seen before. Noah is disappointed after they meet because he can’t believe that Ethan would ever have feelings for him. As they get to know each other they find they have many things in common, but do they have the most important thing, mutual desire, in common? Will their trip in the past lead to things in the future or will it end when the show is complete?

Ms. Falconer has taken the idea of a reality show and added a new twist to it. As a history buff myself, I find the whole idea of personally reliving the past fascinating. I loved watching how Ethan and Noah tiptoed around their feelings until they exploded into a scene that was as combustible as it was beautiful, Noah and Ethan each fulfilled a dream and in the dream they may have found something lasting.
