Campus Cravings: In Bear’s Bed by Carol Lynne is the seventh book in the Campus Cravings series.

Liam likes his college even with the trouble he has had with a few of the homophobic students. Last year he was being beaten up by some of the football players until Bear, one of the biggest players, became his friend and protector. Liam fell fast in love, but felt that at least they were friends until Bear started pulling away from him for some reason. Because of the abuse, a dorm was set up for gay students who need a safe place to live on campus. Liam is shocked to learn that his new roommate is none other than his crush Bear. It seems that Bear had been fighting his feelings, but over the summer with help from one of his sisters, he finally admitted to himself about his feelings and his love for Liam. Liam’s wish came true and they even have the acceptance of Bear’s family. What could possibly happen that could rock their lives and test the new found love between Bear and Liam?

Ms. Lynne has once again added a new twist to her compelling Campus Cravings series. The love between Bear and Liam is truly put to the test when Bear has to choose what is most important to him- football or a long and fulfilling lifetime with Liam. Liam is a very strong character who is willing to fight for the life and love of his man. Bear is on the surface very strong, but underneath he has the same fragilities that each one of us has, especially the need to be loved for yourself. The difficulties that many of the students have on campus, because they are gay, are unfortunately common. It is a fascinating idea to have a dorm for them as a safe haven, and it is a great idea. I will be waiting for the next installment of Campus Cravings.
