Jumping the Fence

Jumping the Fence by Stephanie Vaughan is a reworked and lengthened version of an older book by the same name.

Kevin has always been the good son doing what his parents expected, but is all of a sudden having very erotic thoughts about his co-worker Ben. Kevin has always gone out with women, but lately the only thing that gets him going is thoughts about what he would like to do with Ben. On the other hand, Ben has always known that he is gay, and he has never been interested in the other side of the fence. Thoughts of what he would love to do with Kevin is making work difficult because he knows Kevin is straight. Ben is out to dinner with his soon-to-be ex when Kevin arrives and Ben invites him to join them, not the smartest or most comfortable situation. Things get out of control at the office when Ben notices that Kevin’s interest in his computer repairs come in last place when he is excited by more, shall we say, carnal areas. Kevin’s very erotic thoughts are at odds with everything he was taught. Will Kevin and Ben’s feelings for each other flourish into something lasting or their love be doomed to failure?

Ms. Vaughan has added a more depth to the characters and plot line to create a story that holds the reader from the start. Kevin’s feelings of shame and fear regarding his erotic thoughts about Ben are ones that many men and women struggle with over their sexuality. Kevin is scared that he will loose everything. That is pretty much what happens to many gay men when they come out. Only Ben’s love and understanding allow Kevin to see the world with new eyes and may be help create a love to last for all times. Thanks go to Ms. Vaughan for another incredible read.
