Theron is a hunter. He hunts down those that are a threat to his kind. While on a hunt he catches the scent of a female in heat and follows her home. Emmie does everything she can to control her heat and to avoid the males of her kind. She knows that it is the way of male feline shifters to come in and satisfy the females’ heat and then leave. Emmie does just fine on her own and has no desire for one of her kind to enter her life.

Well written with a fast paced plot, Scratching Post flows smoothly from one plot arc to the next with hardly a hitch in between. Emmie is a woman raised to think the worst of all males and refuses to succumb to the lure of the feline male’s pheromones. Theron is captivated by Emmie and his struggles to overcome his instinctual reaction to her heat makes him the character to watch. Each compliments the other and balance their strengths and weaknesses. Terri Pray creates a world where the paranormal live alongside the normal and blends the two seamlessly. Fun characters, steamy love scenes, a few villains, and shapeshifters make Scratching Post a top read for the paranormal lover.
