Surveillance

Troy is an out of work actor desperate for work. His best friend offers him what seems to be the perfect job: flexible hours so he can go on casting calls, excellent pay so he can eat more than cereal and ketchup packs for food, and the work is easy. Then she reveals the catch. He will have to do the job completely naked and while no one will actually be on the job site the boss will watch him work via security cameras. Dean is a cop by day and a security guard by night. When Troy comes in to start cleaning one of the tenant’s apartments Dean thinks nothing of it until he realizes that Troy is totally naked while doing it and his surveillance cameras are catching every minute of it.

Troy was an enjoyable character who was willing to do a lot to support his dream of becoming a famous actor. At first he wasn’t sure about cleaning in the nude but he found the money too good to pass up. When he discovers Dean, the sexy night security guard, he really can’t pass up the job. Both men are attracted to each other but are unsure if the attraction is returned. Leigh Ellwood did a fine job of building the sexual tension between the two, and their personalities complemented each other well. Dean is the serious, responsible one who has both feet firmly planted in reality while Troy has his head in the clouds following his dreams. He is living off ketchup soup and Cheerios but won’t take just any job in order to pay the bills. He has to have one that will enable him to continue pursuing his dream. Surveillance is a quick little story coming in at only thirty pages but still manages to bring its characters to life and be an enjoyable way to pass a few minutes of your time.
