Omega Chronicles: Bounty Hunter
Jacqueline Wolf is a known bounty hunter. She is an indentured servant to Markus Harton who took her off the streets as a child and saved her life by curing her of a genetic disorder. He is part of the Space Tek-ko company and Jacq worked odd jobs for them, including being Markus’s sex slave for five years. When she turned nineteen he told her he would release her from her bounds for two million credits. If she doesn’t raise the money, she will always belong to him and he doesn’t mind sabotaging her every chance he can get.
Her next bounty is a special one that will net her one million credits, and freedom. But they don’t want this particular bounty alive. They want Tyr Kaden, an escaped convict who kills without warning or a care. Jacq and Tyr have some history as he was brought into the Company around the same time she was. But she knows he has no morals or conscience and will do what she must to be free of the evil Harton. Killing Tyr may be the only answer.
Tyr has actually set a trap for the beautiful Jacq. If he has Jacq as his prisoner, he can get revenge against Harton for killing his brother. Harton thinks of Jacq as his possession and will stop at nothing to have her, even if it means going to Tyr to get her himself. Jacq falls for the trap and even though Tyr scares her, she remembers him when he was an innocent boy. But the man he is now wants Jacq in his bed and hopes she will help him get his revenge against the ones who have done them wrong.
Murder, revenge and great sex scenes makes for an intriguing sci-fi space tale in Bounty Hunter. Even though this is a short read, Deanna Lee has written a top-notch sci-fi story that should not be missed. Jacq and Tyr are two characters full of anger and regret, but when they become partners in love and revenge, watch out, because there are some steamy interactions between these two that will scorch the pages.
Deanna Lee’s storytelling skills are amazing as she gives us past knowledge of why Jacq and Tyr do what they must in order to survive. Tyr may come across as a cold-blooded killer, but this is because of the loss of a loved one. Jacq actually becomes his voice of reason, but because Tyr has a way to get under Jacq, her decision to join him on his crusade becomes very important to the outcome of the story. The only problem I had was that Bounty Hunter was too short! I want more of Jacq and Tyr in space and to see their passion and love grow as they travel the stars wronging the rights and bringing down evil. A wonderful triumph by Deanna Lee!
