Dangerous Desire
Amy Anderson has one joy in her life and that is her writing class she goes to a few times a week at night. Her marriage to her husband Keith is on the rocks since all he cares about is getting ahead at his job and taking his clients out to dinners. The love they had is gone and Amy is to the point where she feels better off without him.
Lately, Amy realizes she has more than a student- teacher relationship with her English teacher, Jamie. Jamie is a woman’s dream because he is young, hip, wears a leather jacket and rides a motorcycle. As these two become friends outside of class, they can no longer deny their ongoing desire for each other. But Amy is not willing to cross that line. She is, of course, a married woman and won’t cheat on her husband. Plus Jamie has an on-again, off-again romance with his girlfriend who has a habit of keeping secrets from him.
Amy doesn’t want to give up what she has with Jamie, but she has to decide what is best for her. And everything comes to a head when Keith has the possibility of moving from Australia to Hong Kong for a better life and as his wife, Amy must follow. Will she follow her heart or do as duty calls?
Dangerous Desire has its moments of tense passion and some drama between Amy and Jamie that should appeal to most romance fans. I really enjoyed the aspect of a freethinking younger man who wants to help an older staid woman find herself. Even though Jamie is very much attracted to Amy, he tries not to cross that line and leaves the decision in the hands of Amy. Jamie is simply a good guy and a wonderful character Romona Hilliger has written.
There is also a bit of a mystery that surrounds Keith and he may or may not want the best for his dear wife. Amy doesn’t stay in the dark for too long, and when she comes to her senses, it is a welcome relief. For a lovely romance with some angst and pent up emotion that needs to be let loose, why not try Dangerous Desire?
