Julie Preston needs a life. Ever since her parents died, leaving her with custody of her nine-year-old sister, she spends all of her time working. Her friend Tanya decides to take her out to a singles bar. No strings attached sex could be just what Julie needs. Julie’s about to give up and go home when she sees a gorgeous hunk walking toward her. They hit it off right away and spend the night together. Julie has the best time of her life, but chooses to stick to her decision.

In an effort to help her sister, Emily, with her English class, she hires a tutor. She has no idea that the tutor is her one-night stand, the very man she cannot stop thinking about. She tries to resist him because he couldn’t possibly want a relationship? Or could he?

This was a cute short story. I understood the conflicts that Julie was feeling concerning Doug. She wasn’t sure if she was ready for a committed relationship, but figured Doug wasn’t because of where they met. I did enjoy the scenes between them, but had they had one simple conversation, things could have been resolved between them a little faster. Her sister was absolutely adorable and l loved her antics to get Julie and Doug together. Readers looking for a sweet, quick read will enjoy Torrid Tarot - All Work and No Play.
