Last Wolf Hunting
Jillian Murphy and Jeremy Burns are life-mates born to be together; they discovered this ten years ago when they were both very young. Their main problem was that Jeremy was a man who had several girl friends before Jillian came home from boarding school. As soon as he saw her he knew immediately that she was the one for him and no other woman could draw his attention, although they continued to try. Jeremy finally got her to trust him enough to let him kiss her and they both knew where the relationship was headed until someone told Jillian that he kissed another girl the same day that he kissed her and she told him that she never wanted to see him again. For ten years they have lived apart knowing that the other person is out there and not knowing if they’ll ever see each other again and complete the union. Now, ten years later Jeremy is back in town to find the rogue wolves and unfortunately ends up putting Jillian in danger as the attraction between them is stronger than ever. Can they trust each other enough to become life-mates or will the danger push them further and further apart?
There is so much going on in this book that I could not put it down until I read the very last word. It was breathtaking in its intensity with these two characters; I’ve never read a book that drew me into the story more than this one did. This story just became my favorite Rhyannon Byrd book. From the first second that Jeremy sees Jillian until the very last word you can feel the love that they share. They fight it, they don’t want to admit that it’s there but it’s there in this story and the connection that they share is too strong for them to resist. I liked Last Wolf Standing, the first book in this series, but this book really shows the connection between the life-mates and how they come together to make the pack hold together. It also has some of the most tender moments in a book that I’ve read in a while too. The book has everything that you could ever want in a book and if you’ve never read a Rhyannon Byrd book then I beg you to read this one because you will absolutely fall in love with these two characters and with the whole pack of wolves.
There are a lot of questions that didn’t get answered in this review and I have a feeling that Ms. Byrd is going to make us wait a while before the whole mystery is uncovered because there are several more stories scheduled to come out about the pack and the mysteries surrounding it.
