Strangers in Death

Mr. Thomas Anders, all around good man and generous businessman, is found dead in a secure apartment surrounded by tawdry bedroom accoutrements and is blatantly exposed. NYPSD Lieutenant Eve Dallas has been called in to investigate. As she questions those near and dear to Mr. Anders, she finds a very different picture than the one he was found dead in. Allowing herself to use her husband’s influence while following the strange trail that’s uncovered, Eve learns yet again that a team can be invaluable.

In this, the twenty-sixth installment of the In Death series, J.D. Robb injects a sliver of the past into the not-so-distant future world that she has created. Eve and Roarke are back as well as the rest of the cast that we have come to know and love. After twenty-six books it feels like sitting down and catching up with friends, with a deliciously intricate twist. The murders that Eve deals with time and time again bring her and her compatriots to life. For fans of the series there is a very comfortable rhythm to this book that is sometimes lacking as Eve or Roarke work through their demons from their troubled pasts. J.D. Robb has penned another fantastic book in an unending string of gems.
