Dreamwalker
As an incubus Damon Venizélos, who works for a covert government agency as an assassin, can influence dreams and read emotions to help him do his job. For his latest job he needs a master thief and he is after one that seems impossible to catch but with his abilities he’ll catch her. Rory diScipios, the master thief in question, has an advantage that Damon can’t even imagine. She is a lamia which means he can’t see flaws in her disguises because it isn’t makeup and prosthetics. When Rory changes appearance it goes bone deep and it isn’t just on the surface. But Damon needs Rory; terrorists have gotten hold of a suitcase nuclear bomb and plan to auction it off to the highest bidder and the world will never be safe while this bomb is in the hands of any terrorist organization. They must be stopped and Damon needs Rory to steal the bomb. But Damon never dreamed that Rory would be literally the woman of his dreams. When these two meet the attraction is instant and undeniable. Then when Damon explains why he needs Rory’s help she puts in a condition that no red blooded man would refuse. Damon must become Rory’s lover as part of her partnering with him for this job! Will Damon and Rory be able to stop the terrorist in time? And will either of them be able to walk away for the other at the end of this job?
I loved Dreamwalker by Kathleen Dante. The characters of Damon and Rory are fascinating and their skills are new and fresh for the reader who loves paranormal books. The interactions and sex between these two is blistering hot but this story is so much more than just good sex. There is a wonderful plot, a complex situation they must solve to get to the bomb, and non-stop action. Damon and Rory must be on their toes all the time or one of them could die. There is no room for mistakes. Ms. Dante grabbed my attention on the first page of this book and held it to the end. I had a hard time putting it down for any reason. I hope there will be a sequel. The team of Damon and Rory are excellent together so another book placing them in a different challenging situation would be good. Or another story with different main characters (maybe Rory’s brother) but with unusual paranormal skills like the characters in this story, would make an excellent sequel. I highly recommend Dreamwalker to any lover of paranormal stories who wants creative characters with intriguing skills, explosive sexual relationships, and non-stop adventure.
