Fear Island

Victoria Rivers has always loved Wood McCall but she allowed her father and step-bother to tear them apart two years ago to protect Wood. Now her father is dead, Tori is the executor of the estate and trustee for her step-brother’s money so they can’t threaten her anymore. She has invited Wood to her island get away to tell him about what happened but when she tells Wood the truth will he believe her or is it too late? While on the island someone wants to kill them or keep them apart forever but who is it? Can they stop the attacks and find love again or is it too little, too late?

I was disappointed in Fear Island by Kimberly Rose. The premise is great; a bad guy trying to kill old lovers while they are trying to overcome past mistakes and start anew. The love scenes between Tori and Wood are erotic, explosive, and intense, but the rest of the story is weak. If you want a little story with lots of sex then you may enjoy this book. I would have preferred more to the story line with the hot sex. Even though the sexual relationship between Tori and Wood was sensual and fairly well done, it was also over done for me. It seemed like they had sex on every page and the set up for the suspense seemed like an after thought. If Ms. Rose had spent a little more time fleshing out the suspense portion of the story I would have been pleased. She had all the right elements present, just not enough meat in the story portion for my taste.
