No Control is Shannon Butcher’s second book about Delta Force trained men and the women who change their lives forever. It can be read completely as a stand alone. The main characters from her first book No Regrets are mentioned but not active in this title.

Eighteen months ago, Lana Hancock was tortured and almost killed by a terrorist group. Caleb Stone, an undercover Delta Force operative, watched the beatings and was helpless to protect Lana until his fellow operatives could get there and catch the terrorist. Caleb then carried Lana, barely alive, out of there and sat by her hospital bed until she was out of danger. Both Caleb and Lana were horribly changed by the experience. Now Lana is in danger again and Caleb has been sent to protect her. Can Lana get past her anger at Caleb for allowing her to be beaten? Can Caleb resolve some of the guilt he feels for Lana’s pain? Can these two trust each other enough to stop the terrorist now before one or both of them are killed?

I loved No Control by Shannon Butcher! From the first page I was drawn into the lives of Lana and Caleb. I agonized with them over the horrible experience that had played a part in changing their lives forever. I hated the bad guys who felt no compunction over killing other people for reasons of their own. I cheered over Lana’s strength of character that doesn’t let her give up ever. I thought Caleb was a hero even if he doesn’t feel deserving of that title. As the story developed and the suspense built, I wanted to jump in the book and help! Ms. Butcher has created very personal, likable, strong characters that I would love to know in real life. No Control is a heart-stopping thriller with characters the reader will love and continuous action that keeps the characters and reader off balance. I highly recommend No Control for anyone who loves a thrilling romantic suspense tale! I can’t wait to read Ms. Butcher’s third title, No Escape.
