Tess McDonald has set up her business in Aruba after fleeing New York when the law got too close to shutting her down as the most influential madam on the East Coast. She has brought three women with her to run the business, women she has made promises to but then she gets a call that will change everything.

Vincent has tracked Tess down in Aruba but when they meet, before he can talk with her he is shot and while he is recovering he gets notice that she is planning to run again. Vincent knows that he must talk to Tess before it’s too late and she disappears forever.

Wicked Ways is a wickedly enchanting read that grabbed my attention from the first page. I was unsure at the beginning if I would actually like Tess but as the story progressed I realized that I did like her and could somewhat understand and empathize with the choices that she had made that led her to where she was.

Author Donna Hill has penned a terrific tale that pulls no punches. The characters throughout the story are vibrant and flawed which gives it the realistic feel that is expected from Ms. Hill.
