The Bonds of Love by J.M. Snyder is a homoerotic contemporary novel based on her original story The Powers of Love.

Vic and Matty are complete opposites, but the love they feel for each other has overcome all obstacles. The biggest one is that every time they make love Matty’s semen gives Vic strange, superhuman abilities that vary according with the position they make love. In the past, Matty’s boyfriends have manipulated him to obtain these abilities, but Vic loves Matty in spite of them. Vic has been waiting to spend the day with his partner Matty. Vic can’t deny Matty anything, and when Matty gets drunk at the concert, Vic decides that getting them home quickly is the best idea. Matty decides to stop for a slurpee that he plans to use in bed, but Vic and Matty get involved in a robbery. Vic steps up to protect Matty, and a strange abilities come to life protecting them. Although it put Vic into the limelight, something they are trying to avoiding. When someone from Matty’s past returns and threatens to get Matty back, will Vic find a way to protect Matty and their love while keeping their abilities from becoming public knowledge?

Ms. Snyder has created a phenomenal plot that adds a depth to the original story and held me spellbound from the very start. The love between Matt and Vic is shown in how they love being able to read each others mind, sharing their every thought. I enjoyed watching the powers that Vic obtains manifest, and how Vic and Matt react to them. Matt feels guilty over all the problems that occur with the powers he gives to Vic, but he doesn't realize that Vic loves him enough to go through anything to keep him in his life. Together they need to hold on to each other and their love to keep them safe outside world. Thanks go to Ms. Snyder for an incredible story.
