Jeffery takes the same route home everyday and give the homeless men he sees along the way spare change that he has on him. Jeffery doesn’t have much, but he still shares it with others. It is almost Christmas, and he will be spending the time alone because he doesn’t have enough for a plane ticket home. When he sees a homeless man he realizes that he, at least, has a safe place to call home. Jeffery feels compelled to do something, and he invites the man for coffee to help warm him up. Jeffery learns that the man was attacked and doesn’t even remember who he is. The attraction that Jeffery feels for the stranger intensifies until he invites the man to his home for the night in spite of everything he was ever taught. Who is this man? Is Jefferies instinctual acceptance of him correct and could one good deed change both of their lives?

Ms. Falconer created a truly inspiring story about loving your fellow man. Jeffery has the ability to look beneath the surface to see the worth of a person inside. The stranger is willing to trust someone after everything he has been through. If other people could see as Jeffery did the world would be a better place.
