Agoraphobic Sapphire has created a veritable fortress out of her apartment, including installing a high-tech security system, run by an artificial intelligence computer program she’s created. Still, she has the uncanny ability to solve various mysteries, all from the comfort of her home. When Drake comes to her for help, Sapphire uncovers some evidence that brings this mystery close to home. She then realizes that in order to assist her ex-boyfriend, the man she still loves, she’ll have to take the risk of going outdoors, or be responsible for Drake’s death.

Author Ericka Scott has written a fast-paced erotic paranormal thriller that will have the reader engaged by the end of the first page and disappointed on the last page, only because the story’s ended. With quirky idiosyncrasies, refreshing imperfections and intensely sizzling sex, Drake and Sapphire are perfect complements to each other. The Vampire Oracle: Chalice is a wonderfully entertaining read, a perfect selection for a brief respite from the daily grind. Ms. Scott has definitely created a new fan in this reader.
