Lady Grace Belmont has left her home in Devon to stay with her widowed Aunt Kate in London so she can experience some fun before her father marries her off to her boring neighbor. Grace hasn't had much luck with men because she is an Amazon, towering at five feet nine inches and has more curves then she knows what to do with. But for the moment she will enjoy herself. While Grace and Kate are at a ball, Grace spies the most delicious looking man who makes her heart thud. And when he stares at her, his appreciation is shown on his face.

David Wilton, Baron Dawson, has also come to London to spend time with his Uncle Alex. David must marry soon because it is his responsibility and he must carry on his line. David is bored already with these London misses who are too small and sticklike for his tastes. He wants a woman with meat on her bones, someone he can have fun with in his bed. And when he spots Grace, he knows she is the one!

Grace and David are so enamored with one another and it seems Kate and Alex feel the same way about one other. Before Kate was married, she and Alex shared a wonderful kiss during a ball and that was when they both knew they were meant for one another. But it has been twenty years since then. Grace is now a widow and both feel they are too old for romance. Plus, Kate's father despises the Wiltons. And because of that, Grace and David can never be together, as well as the past heartache that still consumes both Kate and Alex. These two couples must come to terms with the past and decide if they are willing to give up so much in order to find love and happiness.

The Naked Baron is another lovely book by Sally MacKenzie. Every book I have read by her is a winner and The Naked Baron is no exception. This is a witty and endearing read about past loves reunited and new loves that form. Her characters bring out the laughs and her love scenes really simmer with heat. How can you not adore a character like David who loves a real woman with curves? He thinks Grace is the perfect woman and will do everything he can to make her his. I also really enjoyed the story between Kate and Alex who yearn for one another deeply. Poor Alex loves Kate so very much but is unsure because he feels that he is way past the age of marriage and finding love with a woman. They counteract the romance between Grace and David very nicely.

If you haven't tried a Sally MacKenzie read, you are really missing out. The Naked Baron is a must read.
