In for a Penny
Raven Black lost what he held dear in the blink of an eye. One moment he was just where he wanted to be, and then told never to return in the next. Now, seven years later, he is called for assistance and will come face to face with the one man who owns his heart, Zane Conner.
Zane knew he had to send his foster brother Raven away. There was no way he would allow the small town that embraced the man to think badly of him because of Zane's feeling for him. However, that's just what will happen to Raven if he comes to help Zane save the Lazy C Bar Ranch. It will take Raven going undercover to discover who is under the thefts and now murder that have occurred on the ranch. To get to the heart of the problem, Raven will have to face memories of a painful past at the hands of his father.
Carol Lynne knows how to kick a story into overdrive, and she demonstrates that with In for a Penny. Zane is older, and he believes wiser, but his heart still aches from sending Raven away. Raven has tried to make his life as normal as possible, but having Zane there to share it is the missing key. In for a Penny is a mix of action, suspense, and erotically delicious moments. I loved the balance between these two characters. Raven had grown into a fine man, and while his past has hardened him on the outside, he's still warm and cuddly on the inside. Zane seemed to accept that he was no longer the dominant figure in their relationship. This was definitely a wonderful book and I'm looking forward to reading more for this talented author.
