Drawn Together
Drawn Together by Z. A. Maxfield is a homoerotic contemporary story with a Japanese anime flair.

Rory loves Japanese manga comic books and decides that when his favorite author, a woman named Ran Yamane, is coming for the first time to an amine expo in California, it is a sign that he needs to go there. Rory leaves his Katrina-ravaged home in New Orleans to drive across country to meet his dream, arriving in time for the expo with little besides what he has in his beat-up old car. Rory's first glimpse of Yamane from afar shows she is as beautiful as he thought. It isn't until he arrives to the head of the line that Rory realizes, to his dismay, that Yamane is a very stunning man. Yamane takes one look at the flowers and murmurs "Oh, Crap, not another one"! Imagine, every dream Rory ever had blows up in his face in that second. Yamane treats him with respect, but he never imagined that Rory would want to give him the flowers out of respect for his work. It seems that southern manners so reap their own reward, and Yamane decides to let Rory stay with him. Before they have time to really get to know each other, things spiral out of control when a shadow from Yamane's past rears its ugly head. Will Rory and Yamane overcome the danger? Is there a chance for Rory and Yamane to be anything more than just friends?

Z. A. Maxfield has created a story that any Japanese anime fan who loves yaoi love stories will have to read. The visual descriptions of Yamane bring him to life for the reader. I loved how Yamane has a complex personality and never fails to surprise and delight the reader with his crazy way he sees the world. Rory may just be the knight in shining armor that he may need. Together Rory and Yamane have many difficulties to overcome, and the biggest is their own personal feelings. This is one book that I couldn't put down. Thanks go to Z. A. Maxfield for this incredible story!
