My Everything
Benjamin McCall has been in hiding ever since taking vengeance on the one responsible for his wife and unborn child's deaths. Everyone but one person, Tom, has assumed he is dead since he went missing. When he gets a coded phone call from Tom, he must leave his hideout to discover what is going on. He had hoped to be done with his job at Aris Security, but when he finds out someone has kidnapped his little sister Angel, he knows he has to come out of hiding and let everyone know he is alive. He just didn't count on running back into a woman from the past. Is she part of the plot to kill him or was it truly a coincidence?

Grace Adams is in Los Angeles at a medical conference to give lectures on her specialty, pain. Unfortunately for her being a pain specialist didn't nix her from having a horrible migraine. Accidentally locking herself out of her room, unable to remember her room number and barely able to see or hear, she winds up sitting outside of what she hopes is her room. When she awakes in the morning, she is in the arms of a man. She can't believe her luck as she realizes it is Ben. However, her luck doesn't stay long when she is attacked in her hotel room, and the perpetrator is after Ben. Will she lose him before she can tell him how she feels?

My Everything is an intriguing romantic suspense. Julia Barrett has written the sexual tension between Ben and Grace so vividly that sparks can be felt by the reader. Ben is a hero that everyone will root for. He hasn't had it easy since he's had to work undercover most of his life, and when he does try to start a family, one can't help but feel his pain at the loss of his wife and child. Grace is a very down to earth and likeable character. Her loss of her husband makes her empathy for Ben even more realistic. The villain in this story will have readers torn by the end of the story. On one side you want him to pay for his actions, but when it all comes to light, sympathy will have readers hoping he gets out alive. The only thing that could've made this book better would have been if the villain would have remained a secret a bit longer. He was pretty easy to figure out before we knew who it was. This did not take away from the story between Ben and Grace, or the fact that Julia Barrett knows how to draw readers in with her superb writing style.
