As the Blood Divine, Mylos has control over the humans that are brought to him as sacrifices to the Gods. Mylos enjoys his role as Blood Divine, but also knows he could be replaced at any time. His greatest joy is sacrificing young virgin girls to the Gods. To him women are an unnecessary element in his world. When a young handsome human male is brought before him as a sacrifice, his instincts tell him to send the man away, but something draws him to the young man and he allows him to stay.

Rowen arrives at the primitive world of the blood thirsty sorcerer Mylos after he is sold for inciting trouble among his people. He is able to convince the Blood Divine to let him live, then he embarks on his plan to seduce the sorcerer. Rowen hopes that by offering Mylos sex, he will be able to convince him to stop sacrificing the young virgin women to the Gods. Rowen soon learns he has walked into much more than he bargained for.

This is a blood thirsty tale of a primitive world, which will draw you into the lives of the characters. I'm not normally big on stories that involve violence, but Laura Tolomei's, Sacrificial Sex is one story that had me captivated. The plot and subplots intrigued me to the extent that I found it hard to put the story down at times. Ms. Tolomei builds a descriptive primitive world, which had me thinking about scenes for days after I'd finished the story. The main characters are written with strong convictions in their beliefs and their way of life. Sacrificial Sex has twists that you don't see coming. The sex scenes are explicit, as are the sacrificial scenes, but are appropriately written. I'm looking forward to reading more of Ms. Tolomei's stories.
