The Witch and the Wolf
Lady Arabella DeMaurier has lived through more than her fair share of tragedies. She lost her parents at a young age because of one man, Pierre Debois, the one determined to steal everything from her. She is stuck in France after being kidnapped by Pierre, but she has a plan to go back home to England. She will out maneuver Pierre by getting Napoleon to let her spy for him, and she will be on her way home. She arrives in England under great tragedy, and now she must fight "The Wolf" to see that no one else dies because of her. Will Arabella out wit Pierre?
Christopher Matthews, the 8th Marquess of Wyndham, is the spy known as "The Wolf." He should not have left Lady Arabella behind when he was betrayed in France. He rushes to the shore where two ships attacked each other, and he is looking for his cousin, Steward. Not only does he find Steward, but he also finds Lady Arabella. He does not trust her because he knows she is a French spy. Because of his distrust he compromises Lady Arabella. Now that he is married to her, he must figure out where her loyalties lie. Will he have Arabella's loyalty?
The Witch and the Wolf is a fast paced historical romance packed full of passion, action, and mystery. Marly Mathews knows her historical romances, and she gives the reader a vivid, emotional love story riveted with mystery. Arabella and Christopher's story could be the next Romeo and Juliet. The Witch and the Wolf is a love story that is full of tragedies, danger, mystery, and romance. Ms. Mathews hooks the reader from page one and keeps it until the last page with her fantastic characters. The readers will sympathize with the hero and heroine on their journey of discovery. The Witch and the Wolf is one of the best historical romances I have had the pleasure to read and should not be missed. I cannot wait to see what Ms. Mathews will come up with next.
