Burn For Me
In Dee Tenorio's story Burn For Me, fire fighter Raul Montaga is shocked to discover when the woman he's fantasized about for twelve years becomes a mother, that he became the father of the hell- raising young girl. It's not until a DNA test reveals the truth that they can be sure of Chloe's paternity. Chloe is thrilled to belong to a huge, extended family; Penelope not so much. Although she admits that her mother hardly provides the warmth of Raul's, her mother is all she has, and Penelope worries that the two of them will be supplanted by the Montagas. She is also concerned, and rightly so, that Raul's mother will refuse to accept her grand daughter, and so she attempts to put both Raul and her feelings for him in the deep freeze. However, Raul is determined to win her over and puts his heart on the line to do so. Of course, there is the matter of their incendiary attraction even Penelope is incapable of denying, and which Raul is not above using for his benefit.

Ms. Tenorio has penned another sizzler with Burn For Me. Raul is the quintessential Alpha hero she excels at creating. He is strong, focused, a tad arrogant, and sexy as all get out. He also has a few insecurities, like not knowing how to be a father, which only adds to his attraction. Needless to say, he is also scorching hot in bed. Penelope is strong and focused as well. She had to be to become the town doctor and to face down the gossip about being an unwed mother. In fact, her only weakness is Raul, and she is none too pleased about it. However, she is drawn to him like the moth to the flame, to a fire which has not dimmed despite the passage of time and shows no sign of being extinguished any time soon.

Ms. Tenorio has again developed a noteworthy cast of secondary characters, from Penelope's frost bitten mother to Raul's warm hearted father. With Raul's mother, we get an inside look at reverse discrimination, as Chloe is turned away for not being Hispanic, putting Raul in the unenviable position of having to choose between his family of birth and the family of his making. Burn For Me will have you snickering and sighing...in between reaching for the ice water to try to cool the heat produced by this story. Five Angels, Recommended Read
