Weekend Games
Charlotte, Aubrey, Francie, and Julia have been the best of friends since college. When Charlotte gets this hair-brained idea of playing a role-playing game for Halloween, she doesn’t think any of her friends will go along. A bigger problem is finding guy friends with huge imaginations to play as well. Much to everyone’s surprise, the women agree to play and the guys have really big imaginations. The weekend gets really interesting when the roles are played out to everyone satisfaction. The morning after, however, proves to be the most difficult aspect to the whole game.

Weekend Games was delicious fun right from the start. Cara Carnes’s talent really comes through with her four main female characters, each having a unique personality combined with a separate but equal storyline. Their male counterparts are equally as well-written, each man paired to the exact right woman. Each woman’s morning-after experience takes the story in another direction. Each woman has her own set of problems and must over come their own separate obstacle, outside of the game. The morning-after problems that arise takes the story in a more serious and romantic place. This may be my first experience with Cara Carnes’s work, but it certainly will not be my last. A solid 5 angels for me!
