Witchy Woes 4: Macy
Witchy Woes 4: Macy is the fourth book in the Witchy Woes series by Michelle Hasker. Even though this can be read as a stand-alone book, I would still suggest they be read in order.
The fourth installment of this wonderfully written series is about Macy. Macy has a little attitude and a lot of power. Ever since that fateful night on the beach when a fellow coven member’s spell went awry and Macy “died” for a few minutes, she’s experienced a huge increase in her powers. Not only can she control her own element of Water, but she has the ability to control all of the elements, including the coven leader Sandra’s ability of sight. The only problem is Macy cannot control her power and has to seek help from an unlikely source. In steps Trevor, Macy’s ex-mentor and boyfriend whom she split with on bad terms. When Macy finally gathers up the courage to ask him for his help to control her new powers, she ends up striking a deal with him—lessons for sexual favors. While we know that Macy still loves Trevor, we find out that the feeling is mutual. Will they realize the breakup was a big mistake before time runs out?
Macy’s story was probably my third favorite in this charming series. Only because I wanted to strangle them both for being so blind! Macy is obviously still in love with Trevor despite the awful rumor floating around that Trevor has sex with all of his students and steals their powers. The night they broke up, one of Trevor’s students told Macy that he has sex with all of his students and she isn’t anything special. Ever since that horrible night, she’s avoided him like the plague, even though they pretty much live right next door to each other. This whole time, poor Trevor has been heartbroken over why Macy took off on him that day and never returned. He has absolutely no clue why she did that, except for maybe he scared her off with his declaration of his love for her. The Witchy Woes series is the most delightful witch series’ I’ve read in a long time. Some series’ I get bored with after a while, but not this one! If you’re looking for a fun and sexy read, you should defiantly give Ms. Hasker’s novellas a try, I promise you won’t be disappointed!
