All of Me
When Tuck Manning lost his wife, he lost the will to do almost everything. On the second anniversary of her death he made a stupid mistake and ended up in the middle of the lake on a very crisp fall evening. With this wonderful wake up call, Tuck’s brother-in-law insists that he pull himself together and get back to living. Honoring his promise to his wife, Tuck begins to work on the lake house that his father-in-law deeded to him.
Jillian Samuels just cannot catch a break. First she finds out that her mentor and father figure has died. Then she finds out that the man replacing him as her boss is the very slimeball she had an affair with. A slimeball that neglected to mention his wife. When he insinuates that their affair pick back up now that he’s her boss, Jillian quits and leaves behind an until recently, satisfying job as a prosecuting attorney. In search of something new, she takes off for Salvation, Colorado and the lake house her mentor left to her. Imagine her surprise to find it already occupied by his son-in-law.
Tuck and Jillian were a heart-wrenching couple that both desperately needed somewhere to belong. I couldn’t help but feel that this wasn’t the first story that took place in Salvation, and I know it’s not the first time Jillian was introduced. All of Me is book four in the Wedding Veil Wishes series. You do not need to read them all, but I will definitely be finding the first three in the series. Lori Wilde painted a fantastic picture of a small town wanting to take care of their own and at the same time willing to become a haven for newcomers. I couldn’t wait to see Tuck and Jillian’s relationship progress. This was a very well-written book that made for a great afternoon curled up on the couch.
